Pretty much all whiskey is good whiskey, but some glasses go down smoother than others — and in this edition of Clash of the Titans, we're asking you to choose between a couple shots of "Whiskey in the Jar."

We probably don't even need to tell you the names of our contestants, but just for the sake of tradition, bear with us. In one corner, we have Thin Lizzy, who had a hit with their take on the traditional tune in early 1973, topping the charts in their native Ireland and reaching the Top 10 in the United Kingdom. In the other corner, we have Metallica, who released their Lizzy-inspired version as part of their 1998 covers collection, Garage Inc.

These two acts are far from the only artists who've put their spin on the song, but their versions are definitely two of the best known in classic rock circles. Thin Lizzy's recording essentially launched their career, and although it didn't immediately lead to greater success, it opened the door for later hits like "The Boys Are Back in Town."

Metallica, meanwhile, were well and truly entrenched as legends when they released Garage Inc.. Even though it contained nothing in the way of new original material from the band, it delivered them another quintuple-platinum hit, reaching No. 2 on the chart and spinning off a pair of rock hits — including their cover of "Whiskey in the Jar."

So which of these whiskies best hits the spot for you? If it's too hard to choose, don't worry — you can vote once an hour, and check back here at any time for the latest results. Cheers!
