It never got crazier than the Cabbage Patch Kids of 1983! Let's be real. Every year there is a 'HOT' toy for the Christmas Season. But, back in 1983 things got crazy. We've had the Teddy Ruxpin craze in 1987. Yeah, the talking bear.   There was the hype of the Tickle Me Elmo doll Of 1996.  Everyone wanted to tickle Elmo back then. The Nintendo Wii of 2006 had 'Sold Out signs everywhere. But, NOTHING was like the Christmas of 1983 when people were screaming, kicking, and shoving for the Cabbage Patch Kids!

All you have to do is check out this video and see for yourself.

4 THINGS TO NOTICE WHEN WATCHING VIDEO!

  • The Manager is swinging a BAT. Not just holding it, but swinging it!
  • Cabbage Patch BOXES are being THROWN into the crowd, It's as if they said 'Fend For Yourself and good luck."
  • Pushing and Shoving with no regard to anyone or even kids in the crowd!
  • At one point the MANAGER is kicking packages on the floor in disgust!

The dolls back then were nicely priced at $20 dollars but as always prices got jacked up to $50 in some cases. Can you imagine if the INTERNET and eBay were around then?

There are currently Cabbage Patch Kids dolls on eBay running from $40 dollars to $5,500 dollars! Yep, you heard right.

Did you have a Cabbage Patch Doll back in the day? Do you remember the mayhem of trying to get one?
