Texas Parents Arrested After 4 Children Found Living in Filth

San Antonio police were called out to a San Antonio apartment after neighbors called reporting a ' foul odor coming from an apartment.' What the police saw were some of the most heartbreaking conditions.

DISGUSTING SMELL SEEPING THROUGH DOOR

Bexar County police stepped inside an apartment with an odor so foul they expected to find a decomposing body, instead they found what was some of the worst filth they have ever seen.

What makes it even worse, is four children were living in the squalor. Photo released of the inside of the apartment is beyond wretched. Filth piled up around rooms, corners filled with trash and filth.

The kitchen was filled with old food, appliances are thrown around, and human and animal feces. The pest and rodent infestation was so bad in the apartment, that rats ran across the detective's feet as they searched around.

CHILDREN IN THE HOME

The four children living in the home were between the ages of two and thirteen. The oldest child was at school at the time investigators made their way to the home.

One of the children, an 8-year-old girl told officers she misses school often because she constantly deals with headaches.

SHERRIFF BAFFLED BY LIVING CONDITIONS

Sheriff Salazar was baffled after seeing the horrific and unbelievable conditions the children were living in. Although the children were reported to be healthy, Sherriff Salazar mentioned, " they shouldn't be living in those conditions."

According to officials, the mother works at a hospital and sheriff Salazar said "she should know better," adding “these are not health conditions.”

INVESTIGATORS COME IN

Investigators are not sure quite yet how long the children have been living in these conditions adding, that there was one room dedicated to just piles of trash and trash bags.

The parents 37-year-old Danielle Kinsey and 33-year-old Paul Kinsey have been arrested and charged with child endangerment. All 4 children are healthy and are staying with a relative at the moment.
