I'm tired of doom and gloom. I don't want to ignore the issues we have in the world right now, but it's consuming everything everywhere. Let's just take some time to pretend like everything is ok. Let's make small talk. Tell me something nice going on in your life right now. That way we all get to just scroll through at least one thing on the internet and smile. Even if it's just something small and simple. All negative comments will be deleted. I'll start...

My family has been cooking a lot more, which means we've been eating together a lot more. I grew up in 2 very different families. One was very disorganized and wild, and the other was much more traditional. On my mother's side, we kind of had a very casual family dinner schedule. Someone would cook usually, but we'd never eat at the table. Pretty much everyone did their own thing. My father's side of the family was much more traditional. My step mother cooked. The whole family stopped what they were doing, sat at the table, said grace, thanked my step mom for the meal she prepared, and we all gave one another our undivided attention. As someone who grew up with both, I can say that I prefer a traditional dinner. Do I always get one? Not in today's world...Until now. I do enjoy that we get a little more time to slow down and spend time as a family together.
