Along with a mysterious message penned by Billy Corgan, the Smashing Pumpkins frontman revealed that Motley Crue's Tommy Lee is playing drums on all nine tracks of the upcoming disc!
Big news for Smashing Pumpkins fans. In an official post from frontman Billy Corgan, the Pumpkins are in the final stretch of finishing up studio album No. 9. Additionally, Corgan has revealed that the album will be titled 'Monuments to an Elegy,' along with unveiling its track listing.
If we've learned anything in recent years it's that Smashing Pumpkins leader Billy Corgan is not afraid to tackle large projects. That prolific streak is about to continue as the rocker just inked a new deal with BMG for two new Smashing Pumpkins albums that will arrive in 2015. Furthermore, Corgan has currently demoed over 150 new tracks for the upcoming records.
Billy Corgan has not exactly been kind to his fellow founding Smashing Pumpkins bandmates in recent interviews. However, in a new conversation, Corgan took the opportunity to actually praise guitarist James Iha, drummer Jimmy Chamberlin and bassist D'arcy Wretzky, all of whom are no longer in the band.
