Recently, three members of Finch announced a new project with Senses Fail's Buddy Nielsen called Speak the Truth Even If Your Voice Shakes. But it appears as though that news coincides with the dissolution of Finch for the third time in their career. In a new Instagram posting from Finch vocalist Nate Barcalow, he reveals that the band is "done playing together."

In a private post on his Instagram account, the singer states, "Like most creative endeavors, the direction of the art and the delegation of control was no longer a collective decision. It's sad but it happens and there is no point in fighting an up hill battle." In the course of his posting, the singer reveals that the band had worked on demos for an album that has since been scrapped, but he wanted to share the music with fans as a parting gift. For those interested, you can check the demos out at this location. Meanwhile, the full Nate Barcalow parting statement (as transcribed by ThePrp.com) can be viewed below.

Hello world,

Since I have been locked out of all Finch social media and this is my only outlet to “speak the truth”, I figured I would address at least the fans who follow me here and put this thing to bed.

With a heavy heart, I am sorry to say that Finch is done playing together.

Like most creative endeavors, the direction of the art and the delegation of control was no longer a collective decision. It’s sad but it happens and there is no point in fighting an up hill battle.

In my personal opinion the band would have never made it as far as it did without the devout support of the fans, and so to you I would like to thank you all from the bottom of my broken heart.

In the summer of 2015 Finch had started working on a new record which has since been abandoned and left for dead…until now. I have decided that as a last gift to you all I am going to release the demos of these songs. I still believe in these ideas and think that they deserve to be heard (even in their most raw form). I have put them up on my YouTube channel with lyrics included, so go take a listen.

I am extremely grateful for all that I had in Finch and being able to connect with you through the music that we made. I will continue to make music and I am looking to the future with hope.

Love and respect,

Nate

The demos include songs with such titles as "Contra," "What You Are," "Black Mass," "Siren Song," "In Ruins," "Point and Click," "Eight Legged Freaks," "All for You" and "Phantasma." And Barcalow's YouTube account also features a recently posted teaser of a song called "Gravity Drive" from an act called Private Lives.

As stated, Barcalow's Finch bandmates -- guitarist Alex Linares, bassist Daniel Wonacott and drummer Alex Pappas -- have formed Speak the Truth Even If Your Voice Shakes with Senses Fail's Buddy Nielsen handling vocals. Their debut single is titled "Crash My Car" and can be heard in the video below.

For those who've followed Finch, the band has had a tumultuous career. They got off to a promising start in the early 2000s before going on indefinite hiatus in 2006. They reformed in 2007, but plans to do a new album never panned out and they split again in 2011. In late 2012, the group announced plans to play a one-off show to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their debut disc What It Is to Burn, but things went so well that more tour dates followed and they eventually decided to give recording another shot. Finch released their Back to Oblivion album in 2014 and as Barcalow revealed, they had started on work for another disc. But the album never came to fruition.
