The Most Wanted Woman In Texas Has A $12,500 Reward For YOU!
Margaret Lorrain Smith has been on the run now for over a decade after being charged with capital murder in the death of her then-husband George Smith in 2007. After being indicted along with the man she hired to do the job, Dylan Laughrey, he was convicted and got a life sentence in prison with no possibility of parole. She was able to flee while out on bond in 2009 and disappear. The only female on Texas' Most Wanted Fugitives list, she was last seen in a Walmart parking lot in San Antonio 12 years ago. She allegedly hired Laughrey to kill her husband, and on August 6, 2007, lured her husband to Surfside Beach where he was beaten to death to the point of being unrecognizable, by Laughrey--according to court records. The motive was allegedly a life insurance policy she was listed on as the beneficiary.

Meet Geronimo! You won't get to see this special guy if you come to the shelter to look for dogs unless you specifically ask for him! He needs someone that is invested in getting to know him. This will take several visits as this little guy does not give his trust easily. Once he does though, all the time and effort will be worth it because Geronimo is the sweetest boy! He is a 7 year old dachshund mix that has been at the shelter for five years! Geronimo loves belly scratches, giving kisses and warm blankets. He will sit for a treat and loves to run and play in his yard. Geronimo also loves to jump up and sit on top of his dog house in his kennel just like Snoopy! The best way to meet him is to stand outside of his kennel and give him treats! An interested person would need to come several days for Geronimo to be comfortable enough to let them touch him. All new staff at the shelter follow this, and he loves everyone who works there. They say the best rewards are those you have to work for, and I promise you that Geronimo is one of those! This special dog needs to go to a home without children, he is selective with other dogs, and needs a yard to run in. If you think you can give this wonderful boy the loving home he deserves, please come see him during our visiting hours of 1-4:30pm every day except Thursdays and let staff know it's Geronimo you have come to meet!

Meet Brock! This sweet shy guy is watching all of his playmates get adopted while he stays at the shelter. He is really hoping that the next person or family that comes to look will pick him! Brock is a beautiful boy that looks very much like a fox! He is a three year old terrier mix. Brock came to us with his housemate, Oreo, when their owners no longer had time for them. Oreo was just recently adopted and now it's Brock's turn! He is a very sweet boy if you take the time to let him get to know you. He is very playful and is most comfortable with dogs his size or smaller. Brock loves his sweaters, blankets and small toys. Because of his shyness, we wouldn't recommend him for kids under 10. Brock's adopters would also need to have a fenced in yard. It is important to remember that adopting a dog from a shelter is different than getting a puppy from a breeder. They will need time to adjust to you and their new environment. Keeping that in mind, it is very helpful to prepare for your new best friend's arrival by having everything he or she needs Before you get him or her from the shelter. Once home remember the rule of three, three days to decompress, three weeks to get used to your routine and home, and three months to feel completely at home.
