In recent years, there has been an influx of heavier acts performing on late night television. The latest band to get the nod, Shinedown, are booked for another spotlight on Jimmy Kimmel Live! after having made appearances on the program in 2009 and 2012.

The hard rockers will be performing on Monday, April 18 as they continue to support their fifth studio offering, Threat to Survival. The album has brought instant classics in the stomping "Cut the Cord" and crisp hooks of "State of My Head," making for fine additions to their growing list of hits. The 2015 release landed at No. 6 on the Billboard 200 chart, netting the second highest charting of Shinedown's career.

Shinedown recently wrapped up a U.S. tour with the Virginmarys and will be heading back out on the road a bit later in the year. The quartet will serve as the headliner of the 2016 Carnival of Madness tour with support coming from Halestorm, Black Stone Cherry and Whiskey Myers and a list of stops can be found here.

Frontman Brent Smith commented on the trek, exclaiming, “I’ve always envisioned the Carnival of Madness as more than just a music festival. It is a celebration of rock music where the lines between those on stage and those in the audience are blurred. Where everyone is sharing in this amazing moment. Truly experiencing the power of rock music together. This year, we’ve gathered artists from across the rock spectrum to bring the most dynamic Carnival of Madness to date. Come join us.”

In addition to the Carnival of Madness tour, Shinedown will be making the festival rounds, appearing at Rock'N Derby, Fort Rock, Welcome to Rockville, Carolina Rebellion and more. For a full list of festivals, head to our 2016 Guide to Rock + Metal Festivals.
