North Texas Woman Serves as Surrogate, Gives Birth to Granddaughter

Tracy Thompson, 54, of North Texas has given birth to a 6 pound 11 ounce girl after serving as a surrogate for her 28 year old daughter, Kelley McKissack.

McKissack and her husband, Aaron McKissack, had gone undergone multiple infertility treatments, only to suffer three miscarriages according to doctors at the The Medical Center of Plano.

According to a hospital statement released this past Thursday, the couple from Wylie, Texas had only four fertilized embryos left. And Thompson, despite being seven years past menopause, offered to become a surrogate. The embryos were implanted in Thompson's womb last April.
