On Wednesday, April 27, Metallica kicked off their South American tour with an epic stop at Club Hípico, a horse race track in Santiago, Chile—and now the show is available via LiveMetallica.com and nugs.net for fans to stream and download.

Before they even took the stage for the show, the city of Santiago knew it was going to be a loud night; fans captured footage of their soundcheck from way outside of the venue and the track is lit up and booming with Metallica's pummeling rehearsal of "One." You can see that footage here.

The night was full of hits from Metallica's 40-year career, but there were a couple of awesome surprises like playing "The Memory Remains" for the first time in Santiago since 1999 and opening the encore with "Spit Out the Bone."

In 2010, Metallica performed at Club Hípico on their World Magnetic Tour. That performance will forever be connected to a riot that took place at the race track. As SPIN reported days after the show, "Over a hundred metal-starved fans were arrested in Santiago, Chile, Tuesday night after 2,000 ticketless people attempted to crash the gates at a Metallica concert. The show was the metal gods' first in Chile in 10 years, and drew a paying crowd of 55,000."

Metallica are set to perform at BottleRock and Boston Calling near the end of May, but before that, they have several more shows scheduled throughout Brazil. You can grab their full tour itinerary here.

Some of Our Favorite Live Photos of Robert Trujillo

If you've ever seen Metallica live in the last 20 years, you know how much of a monster Robert Trujillo is onstage. From his signature helicopter spin to his barking vocals, Trujillo is a musician few can imitate. We could share thousands of photos of Trujillo doing what he does best, but we decided to trim it down to just a few of our favorites.

Sometimes in rock bands, you'll find the bassist is more subdued or prefers to stay away from the spotlight. With Trujillo, he commands the attention of the crowd—and often, the attention of his bandmates—and Metallica's live shows are better because of it.

Check out some of our favorite live shots of Trujillo below, going all the way back to when he first joined the band in 2003.

Here Are Some of Our Favorite Metallica T-Shirts

Metallica have not only created some of the best heavy metal in the last 40 years, they've also created some of the most iconic T-shirts. In the last four decades, they've worked with incredible artists like Pushead, Brian Ewing and others to bring their songs and albums to life. In the gallery below, we've picked out some of our favorite T-shirts that are currently available at Metallica's official online store. Which one is your favorite?
