Train Like a Lucha Pro at Cinta De Oro’s New Texas School
El Paso locals continue to put our city on the map, but the best part about locals who make it big out of El Paso is that they always find a way to show support for their hometown. Case and point: WWE legend Cinta De Oro!
International wrestling superstar and former WWE legend Sin Cara, now known as Cinta De Oro, just body-slammed us all in the feels by opening a School of Lucha Libre in the heart of El Paso. And not just anywhere! He opened this new school inside the Boys & Girls Clubs of El Paso, 801 S. Florence St., El Paso, TX, the very same one that raised him during his younger years.

From the ring to the barrio… Cinta De Oro is fighting for the future
Born and raised in El Segundo Barrio, Cinta De Oro grew up walking the halls of that same club. Now He’s transformed it into a place where future wrestling stars can train Monday through Thursday evenings and a place where kids can learn the high-flying, mask-rocking, crowd-hyping art of lucha libre.
This isn’t just about physical training though, it’s also about legacy. A portion of proceeds from the school go right back into supporting the Boys & Girls Clubs, helping fund scholarships and youth programs so more kids can dream big.
In a press release sent to lcoal media, Cinta De Oro explained why he chose to open this school:
“I was one of these kids. Opening this school is more than a dream come true. Now it’s my turn to give back—to inspire them, to train them, and to show them that with heart and discipline, anything is possible.”
So whether you wanna become the next lucha icon or just support an El Paso hero who never forgot where he came from, this is the kind of comeback story we love to see.
