Texas is full of animal lovers. Pet owners, animal, sanctuaries, charities & nonprofit organizations… you have many groups of people who are dedicated to taking care of animals and wanting to help animals find their forever home.

Texas is also full of talented voice actors, both professional and aspiring. Near Houston, Texas, One, Texas woman has made it a goal to combine the two in a very unique way.

This Texas studio allows voice actors to give foster pets a voice...LITERALLY.

Based out of Friendswood, Texas (less than a half mile away from Houston), Marivel Tragarz is a producer/screen writer/voice acting with years of experience in producing local commercials & short films.

Along with her accolades in the film industry, the other thing she is most proud of is being an animal lover. With her experience of voice acting & working with local animal shelters, she founded the Voices of Foster Pets Studios earlier in 2026.

This was done with two goals in mind:

  • To give aspiring voice actors an opportunity to do voiceover work for their portfolio (or just for fun)
  • To help give foster dogs and cats a literal voice in hopes to give them a better chance of being adopted

To see an example of this, Season 2 Episode 9 features a 2-year-old mixed breed name Rye “Sweet As Pie Loves Everyone” & Huey “Loves Hugs”, a 2-year-old Pitty/Lab mix who absolutely loves cuddles and pup cups. Both Rye & Huey are available for adoption on the Three Little Pitties Rescue official website. The thing that made this episode very special to me is… I got to provide Huey’s voice myself. I am very blessed that I was asked to SPEAK on Huey’s behalf.

If you want to see the whole episode, it is up on Foster Pets Studios official Instagram as well as YouTube. Each episode features a different dog/cat up for adoption, so I encourage you to watch other episodes to see which animal sticks to YOU.

Marivel has done a stellar job with bringing two communities together for one great cause, the voice acting community and the pet lover's community.

I would love to see animal shelters in El Paso, Texas, and indeed the rest of the world do more stuff like this. Not only do you give aspiring voice actors a chance to shine, the most importantly you give these animals a chance to be HEARD, and hopefully, help them find their forever homes.

If you’d like to provide your voice, or just want more information, you can reach out to Voices of Foster Pets Studios on their Instagram page.

Exotic Animals You Can Legally Own in Texas

Texas has an estimated 7.2 million dogs, more than any other state. But perhaps you’re interested in branching out a bit and adding a less common exotic pet to your home.

Granted a few of these exotics are regulated and will require permits.

Can These Animals Predict Weather?

Folklore or forecast? You be the judge.
