World Renowned Roller Coaster For Sale In Texas?
A tiny amusement park in a small Texas town has been drawing visitors from all over the world for almost 20 years. The reason why may soon be for sale.
I don't know if they plan to sell this thing or not but I don't see why they wouldn't. What's the point in keeping all the rides and attractions in a closed amusement park, right?
A not so huge roller coaster has been drawing peeps to Seguin, Texas from all over the world for years but now the park it sits in is closing.
ZDT's Amusement Park in Seguin is shutting down and the world's ONLY wooden, shuttle rollercoaster ... which has attracted thousands of roller coaster freaks from all over the world ... will thrill no more.
It features an 87-degree incline and takes passengers 60 feet into the air, but what makes it special is the fact that it's a wooden shuttle rollercoaster. A metal track lays on top of the wooden frame, and cars resemble a locomotive in an homage to America's first rollercoaster, the Switchback Railway ... - mysanantonio.com
The Switchback runs on 1,110 feet of track but the ride is actually twice as long as that. Once you get to the end, after going straight up around 60 feet or so, you fall back down and do the whole thing again ... backwards.
The Switchback is ranked #33 among the top, wooden coaters in the world, took almost a year to build and cost $3.5 million back in 2015. You don't just throw a sheet over a multi million dollar piece of equipment and walk away so, I assume, it will be sold sooner or later.
