There are a ton of things to see and so around El Paso but, 'ya gotta admit, some of our tourist attractions are a little, shall we say, weird.

El Paso is in a very unique place. We're on the border between Texas and New Mexico and the border between the USA and Mexico, (so you can actually visit a foreign country while you're here), and on the very edge of Texas itself.

Being in but slightly removed from Texas, gives us tons of cool and unique things to see, do and experience.

We have museums, 2 of which can't be found anywhere else, beautiful, natural attractions like Franklin Mountains State Park and White Sands as well as centuries old missions.

Weird Attractions In El Paso

Along with the usual things like museums, zoos and historic spots that pretty much every city has, we also have some weird tourist draws.

The Casa de Azucar. (Sugar House) No, it's not really made of sugar but it's surrounded by some amazing, concrete carvings that took the homes owner, Rufino Loya, about 25 years to finish carving.

Famous Graves

Some cities honor the graves of local heroes, past presidents, philanthropists, etc. In El Paso, once known as the 6 Shooter Capital, tourists flock to the grave of a notorious gunfighter named John Wesley Hardin. Hardin reportedly killed over 40 men, one, (supposedly), just for snoring too loud.

Military Bomber Crash Site

In 1953, a B-36 bomber, flying in a (rare) snow storm, miscalculated its location and altitude causing it to fly into the west side of the mountain, killing all aboard.

Today, people visit the crash site where wreckage can still be seen. The catch is, you have to hike most of the way up the mountain to get to the site so, it's not exactly conveniently located.
