Bruce Springsteen, wrote a song whose lyrics tell the tale of a Mexican migrant whose daughter falls victim to the violence in Juarez.

The song was written many years ago but only recently released on his latest album,  Tracks II: The Lost Albums. It's a compilation of mostly unreleased songs written between 1983 and 2018.

Of the albums 83 songs, 74 are "new". In the song "Ciudad Juarez", a Mexican migrant and his daughter head to the USA to find work but don't make it past Juarez where his daughter is killed.

Guns and drugs are also mentioned in the song which was written in the 90's for the "Inyo" album. You can read the lyrics to Ciudad Juarez here.

“‘Inyo’ was a record I wrote in California during long drives along the California aqueduct, up through Inyo County on my way to Yosemite or Death Valley,” recalled Springsteen. - brucespringsteen.net

The "Inyo" album was meant to be the follow up to "The Ghost of Tom Joad", (which also referenced Mexico via "Sinaloa Cowboys" and "Across The Border"), but was never released.

[On ‘The Ghost Of Tom Joad’ tour] I would go home to the hotel room at night and continue to write in that style because I thought I was going to follow up ‘The Ghost of Tom Joad’ with a similar record, but I didn’t. - brucespringsteen.net

Other songs on "Inyo" about the border and Mexican culture are "Adelita" and "El Jardinero (Upon the Death of Ramona)".
