Men Are Going Into Debt For Love

A recent survey has revealed an intriguing trend: nearly half of men are willing to go into debt to pay for dating expenses.

The study, which focused on Gen Z and millennial adults, found that 46 percent of men would consider overdrafting their bank accounts for love, while only 28 percent of women expressed the same willingness.

The findings reveal an increasing conflict between dating culture and financial realities.

For young men, the cultural expectation to "pick up the tab" often adds even more pressure to the situation.  All the while, most women enjoy the notion of being wined and dined without giving much concern about how much everything costs.

The notion of men paying for dates is so deeply ingrained in our culture that many women in 2025 are taking to social media to shame men for not wanting to be obligated to pay for dates in their entirety.
