Did the Show Get It Right?

I admit that I delayed watching this show for quite some time; however, I had heard many stories from local oilfield workers that it accurately portrayed various aspects of real life in the industry. Still, there were several inaccuracies in the show. If you ask any local, you'll likely hear a plethora of differing opinions about the show, some of which are simply untrue.

Season 2 Premiere Announced

The speculation surrounding a second season of "Landman" quickly gained traction online. Fans have been actively sharing their sightings of the filming crew around popular locations, including Midland-Odessa and Fort Worth, Texas—two cities renowned for their picturesque landscapes and vibrant culture, which serve as the backdrop for the series. The second season of "Landman" has been officially confirmed and is scheduled to premiere in December 2025 on Paramount+, building anticipation among its dedicated fanbase. This upcoming season promises to delve deeper into the intricacies of the storyline and character development, heightening excitement among viewers eagerly awaiting its return.

What Does This Mean for Midland-Odessa?

The show "Landman" is not the first television series or movie to be set in the Permian Basin. This region is crucial to the foundation of the United States due to its abundant oil reserves, which the rest of the country heavily relies on. While the show does have some inaccuracies, it still highlights life in Midland-Odessa. This portrayal may help dispel some of the unflattering stereotypes that many people across the United States have about our community and its work environment.  Regardless, most of us are still excited to see "Landman" return for a second season.
