Barbecue in Texas is almost a religion, and one West Texas BBQ restaurant has received the #1 status for ribs in the whole state back in 2022 and I believe I do need to take a road trip and try them! Located in Pecos TX a mere 90 minutes from Midland/Odessa.
According to Mashed, they ranked one Pecos BBQ restaurant as the best place in the state to get ribs a couple of years ago and I cannot believe with the handful of times I've visited Pecos, I've never tried this place. You may be thinking, well tell us where already! Well, that would be Pody's BBQ.
Located at the corner of 14th St. and Hwy 285 (Cedar St.) in Pecos, these fall-off-the-bone ribs are worth the short drive to Pecos to get out and try. Not only did Mashed rank them #1, but so has MSN. This means if you are a lover of great ribs, then you need to go and check this restaurant out.
Don't plan a weekend trip to Pecos because they are unfortunately closed on the weekends and Mondays but are open for lunch Tuesday through Friday from 11 am - 2 pm. But ribs are not all they have, they do have all the standard BBQ cuts and dishes including sides like potato salad, coleslaw, pickles, and red beans.
They also feature the Pecos Giant Spud which is a potato filled to overflowing with meat so you can get your meat and potatoes all in one.
I'm just saying next time you've got a hankering for some ribs and good barbecue your best bet is to go to Pody's BBQ in Pecos for the best in-the-state, fall-off-the-bone ribs you can get.
