Texans need to pay particular attention to the bottle they grab before they squirt something in their eyes.

For the last few years, there have been a surprising number of videos posted on social media by people documenting their visits to the emergency room after accidently putting super glue in their eyes instead of the eyedrops that they intended to use. The glue is unlikely to cause any permanent damage to the absent-minded oafs, but it can be an extremely painful experience.

One video was posted on TikTok after a woman accidently put KISS Nail Glue in her eyes instead of her medicated eyedrops. In the video you can see that she has a tube running to her eye that is providing some sort of liquid to aid in the removal of the super glue. That video was posted in November of last year and has already been viewed over 6 million times.

Another woman posted a video in August of 2022 that documented her trip to the ER after mixing up her eyedrops with superglue. That video amassed over 5 million views.

Doctors are now going out of their way to make sure that people understand that this isn't a relatively common occurrence, and one of the contributing factors is that people are storing their eyedrops in the same location as their glue. Quite often the glue is for cosmetic use with acrylic nails or eyelash extensions, and that explains why they are being kept near each other when not in use.

People are usually putting eyedrops in while under duress because of irritation or a foreign object is in their eye unless it's a prescription that requires the drops on a regular schedule. Because of this it's important to be especially vigilant when putting in eyedrops.
