Ring Camera Taken Over By Unknown Individual In Killeen
As reported by KVUE, Ausharee McLeod was awake one night recently when she was alerted to something regarding a Ring camera. The camera, which was located in her five year old's bedroom, showed a worrying sight. It showed her child talking to the camera, but Ausharee wasn't using the microphone on the camera.
When Ausharee unmuted the camera, she heard an unknown male's voice communicating with her son. After the unidentified voice said "Hey!", the child was frightened, and called for his father.
Ausharee, confirmed it wasn't her husband talking to their son on the camera when interviewed by KVUE: "I rolled over. I looked at my husband, and I asked him if he was on the camera talking to him. He said he was asleep."
McLeod Family's Actions After Discovery
KVUE reports that following the moment, the family quickly looked around their home. They were very worried that somebody was inside their household. In addition, when they came back to check the camera, they found the video of the moment gone, erased from the device.
Ausharee had saved a copy of the incident, but she still worries about the moment:
"They did say that sometimes people that hack into your Wi-Fi are near you... So that's the scary part as well is knowing that this person is likely close to us."
A police report was filed in regards to the incident. As this is a developing story, we will have more information when it becomes available.
