
Georgetown Recycling Day: Help the Environment and Victim Services
On April 12th, the Environmental Services team in Georgetown has something pretty "neat" planned for their community.
Event Details: Date, Time, and Location
The Environment Services team will be hosting a recycling event at the Georgetown Municipal Complex from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. The Municipal Complex is located in Georgetown at 300-1 Industrial Ave. If you bring a donation for the Georgetown Police Department's Victim Services Unit, the event will be free for you.
Supporting Victim Services: Giving Back to the Community
Victim Services is a department of the Georgetown Police force that provides advocacy, access to resources, and crisis intervention to people in the community and the community as a whole during times of trauma. Contact the Victim Services Unit if you are in need of criminal justice support, personal safety planning, crime victim compensation, or crisis intervention. They can also help you with information and referrals if the help you need is not provided by the Victim Services Unit.
Donate & De-Clutter: What You Can Bring
You donate, furniture, clothes, tools, and just about anything accept hazardous waste, biological waste, construction debris, oxygen tanks, light bulbs, and batteries. Basically, it's the same rules as Goodwill donations. You can donate money as well.
️ The Crayon Initiative: Helping Children's Hospitals
You can also donate crayons that have been used, broken, or are just not wanted or needed anymore. The crayon donations are for The Crayon Initiative which is a charity that donates the crayons to children's hospitals.
