Only In Texas Would You See A Bizarre Sign Like This
In Texas, we see a lot of different things you probably wouldn't see anywhere else. We have a tendency to be unique in so many ways, so the saying "Only In Texas" is a truly honest thing.
I've had friends and family come in and visit for years since we moved here over a decade ago, and the amount of times I've seen them or heard them be completely perplexed by something they see here is astonishing...and funny.
While nothing these days seems to surprise me in Texas, this one absolutely boggled my mind. We've all stayed in a hotel before, right? We've seen signs posted up around the premises asking you to please not do something.
Most of them are typical signs. No running at the pool, keep your volume level down to respect other guests, etc. We've seen signs in the breakfast area about not taking too much food or things to not put in the waffle machine.
This though...this has to be the best one I've ever seen in my life, and only in Texas would we have to bring up tortillas in the breakfast area.
Yes, you read that right. No tortillas in the toaster. Now, Texas might be one of the very few places in America that have tortillas in the breakfast area, but they are pretty commonly used for things here.
What would provoke someone though to stick a tortilla in the toaster? I mean, I get wanting to warm it up and all, but putting it in the toaster isn't going to mimic putting it in a pan on the stove or something.
Digging into the comments, it appears this has become viral thanks to TikTok. Someone decided to show off a different way to make a quesadilla, and it involved folding it in half with the loose cheese and pushing it down into the toaster.
Ok, I have to hand out some creativity points, because on the surface it doesn't seem like a bad idea, especially is something like a toaster oven isn't available. However, you're inevitably going to have cheese fall out of that tortilla, and it's going to gum up in the inside of your toaster.
So, don't put your tortillas in the toaster at whichever hotel this is...and maybe don't even do it at home. There has to be a better way, right?
