Red Raider Volleyball's Hot Streak

Heading into Friday afternoon, the Lady Raiders defeated Prairie View A&M in five sets. The most impressive part was that TTU was trailing 0-2 early on, but managed to clutch the win in the end.

Several players are to thank for such a memorable victory. Freshman Sara Bowcutt dominated the court with 25 kills. Elia Dinsmore, also a freshman, had the second-highest amount of kills at 12 during Thursday's game against Prairie View.

For those unaware, a "kill" in volleyball simply refers to a hit from a player that results in an immediate point for their team. You can check out volleyball.com to learn more about common volleyball terms.

How Did TTU Beat Prairie View A&M?

It was a rough start to the match as Prairie View took an early lead, 2-0, by avoiding errors while serving and by consistently outblocking Texas Tech.

Things took a turn by the third set in favor of Tech, however, thanks to Dinsmore's three kills and two blocks. After winning the third and fourth set, Texas Tech forced a tie-breaking fifth, which they won as well.

This victory brought the Lady Raiders to 5-2 overall this season heading into Friday afternoon's game against Portland State.
