A husband and wife went overboard on a shopping spree after they were caught bouncing from one retail store to another, pocketing knick knacks along the way.

In fact, the two allegedly stole a combined $85,000 in merchandise from stores across Texas.

According to a Facebook post from the College Station Police Department, just before 6 PM on March 5, officers responded to a tip about a wanted husband and wife suspected of shoplifting from various stores, including Walgreens, across Texas.

Because the couple seemed to be in a Walgreens kick, law enforcement came prepared, posting cops at various locations in College Station. Then, lo and behold, the couple showed up at one of the Walgreens locations as planned, and both husband and wife were detained. They were each identified and confirmed to be the duo wanted out of Plano.

After their arrest, police recovered 882 stolen items valued around $10,000... from Walgreens alone!

  • Theft of property $100 less than $750 - Harris County SO
  • Shoplifting with fake ID - Rockford PD
  • Active warrant out of Sacramento County, CA
  • Retail theft - Will County, IL

Maria's husband, Emmanual Stoican, had a warrant out of Harris County for theft of property between $100 and $750, as well as additional charges for possession of marijuana.

But Wait, There's More...

This story wouldn't be complete without a plot twist. You see, the Stoican's had two children--an infant and a 2-year-old--who were with them during their parent's shoplifting sprees!

Both kids were sent to Child Protective Services as the husband and wife face charges.
