14 Yamaha Motorcycles on Display

The Museum of Texas Tech University has opened the exhibition Yamaha: This Rise of Two-Stroke Street Bikes. The exhibit opened on June 10 and will run through September 7. The exhibit features a rare, complete collection of 14 Yamaha two-stroke motorcycles from the 60's and 70's.

The collection was assembled over five decades according to the press release by a local private collector. According to the release, the collector began in 1971 with a single Yamaha bike.

The exhibition connects engineering innovation with personal passion, showcasing not only the technical excellence of the motorcycles but the lasting impact they had on generations of riders. It also reflects the museum’s commitment to presenting bold, multidisciplinary exhibitions that resonate with both regional and national audiences.

When to Visit the Museum at Texas Tech University

The museum is open 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and Noon to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays.
