In a busy 72 hours, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers apprehended three men who each had outstanding warrants for sex-related offenses. Two of these offenses involved child sexual contact.
Back-to-Back-to-Back Arrests Along Texas-Mexico Border
The first arrest occurred on January 23 at Juarez-Lincoln Bridge in Laredo. Agents here stopped 26-year-old U.S. citizen Ezekiel John Glick and referred him to secondary inspection.
Officers utilized biometric verification to discover that Glick was already in the system with an active warrant for his arrest. Glick was wanted for 1st degree child sexual assault out of Taylor County Sheriff's Office in Medford, Wisconsin.
Just one day later on January 24, Eagle Pass International Bridge Port of Entry officers sent U.S. citizen Adrian Moreno, 33, to secondary examination. Once again, border agents then discovered an active warrant for his arrest. This time it was from the Weslaco Police Department for one count of indecency with a child by exposure and one count by sexual contact.

Moreno was immediately detained and turned over to Maverick County Sheriff's Office to await adjudication.
Finally, on January 25, Anzalduas International Bridge officers in Mission, TX, stopped 52-year-old Victor Manuel Pena, a U.S. citizen, for a routine secondary examination. Border agents were immediately suspicious of Pena because he already fit the description of a wanted fugitive.
After his identification was confirmed, Pena was arrested for having an active warrant for alleged sexual assault out of Cass County in Logansport, Indiana.
What is the National Crime Information Center?
All three arrests during this 72-hour span were thanks to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC). This national database contains personal information on known fugitives that law enforcement across America can access.
Once officers discover that there are active warrants for wanted individuals, they are able to make an immediate arrest thanks to the NCIC.
