The American Theatre Guild has announced that single tickets for Water for Elephants go on sale Friday, October 10th at 10 a.m., officially launching the 2025–2026 Broadway at The Buddy Holly Hall Series right here in Lubbock!

Based on the New York Times bestselling novel by Sara Gruen, Water for Elephants has been praised by critics and audiences alike for its heart, spectacle, and music. The show will run January 16th–18th, 2026, with multiple performances across the weekend.

A Story of Love, Loss, and Second Chances

The story follows a young man who, after losing everything, hops a moving train and unexpectedly finds himself part of a traveling circus. Through the chaos, color, and courage of circus life, he finds purpose, friendship, and a love that changes everything.

Told through the eyes of his older self, Water for Elephants reminds us that "no matter where life takes you — it’s never too late to begin again."

Award-Winning Talent Behind the Curtain

This Broadway hit comes with serious credentials. The musical features a book by four-time Tony Award nominee Rick Elice (Jersey Boys), a soaring score by PigPen Theatre Co., and direction by Tony nominee Jessica Stone (Kimberly Akimbo).

It’s also earned rave reviews and multiple awards, including Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle honors for its direction, choreography, and breathtaking puppetry that brings the circus to life on stage.
