Honoring Donors

This free, family-friendly celebration is all about honoring organ, eye, and tissue donors while raising awareness for the more than 10,000 Texans still waiting for a second chance at life through transplant.

And this isn’t just a solemn tribute — it’s a celebration!

Softball, Snow Cones & Saving Lives

One of the event’s biggest highlights? A Softball Showdown between Lubbock healthcare giants Covenant Health and University Medical Center, complete with awards for Best Uniform, Best Team Name, and of course, the Championship Trophy. Let’s just say — bragging rights are on the line.

Attendees can walk the moving Honor Path, created by donor families to pay tribute to those who gave the ultimate gift. And the kids? They’ll be having a blast with face painting, a photo booth, DJ with TJ, and hands-on activities.

Covenant Children’s medical helicopter will land on-site, and the Lubbock Police Department will showcase their sleek motor units — so bring your cameras!

Hungry? Local food trucks will be serving up ballpark classics like hot dogs, burgers, nachos, and snow cones.

Give Blood, Give Life

Vitalant will have a mobile blood donation unit on-site — and yes, every donor gets a gift. Appointments are encouraged and can be made through LifeGift’s HopeFest website.

HopeFest 2025 is sponsored by a who’s who of community partners, including Covenant Health, UMC, H-E-B, Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages, Lubbock Chamber of Commerce, South Plains Kidney Foundation, and many more.

“HopeFest is about celebrating life and raising awareness,” Kevin Myer, President & CEO of LifeGift said via press release. “Lubbock’s overwhelming support proves how deeply this community cares.”
