While the holiday season is a festive and fun time for lots of folks, it can also be a difficult time for many.

We all wish to celebrate with our closest friends and family, spending quality time together, laughing, eating delicious food, and enjoying the end of the year. However, that isn’t the reality for a lot of people.

Whether you’ve recently lost a loved one, you are short on funds, can’t spend the holidays with who you wish you could, or any other reason, the holidays might be a difficult time for you. That is why it is incredibly important to spread an extra bit of kindness this holiday season.

Whether it’s by supporting a local non-profit during their holiday fundraisers, tipping extra to the server at your favorite restaurant, or simply sharing a smile and a kind gesture to a stranger, these moments can mean a lot to those receiving them.

Especially in the service industry, many people are working extra hard during the last couple months of the year. Delivery drivers are working over-time, baristas are rolling out hundreds of hot drinks, and retail workers are overwhelmed with Black Friday and holiday shoppers.

So, be sure to take a moment to appreciate their hard work, don’t fret over packed check-out lines or longer shipping times, and enjoy the chaos that brings everyone together. I know a patient, smiling face is a breath of fresh air for many people during the holiday craziness.
