(Tyler, Texas) The one constant thing about Tyler and East Texas is growth. Look around and you'll see signs of new construction just about everywhere. From new subdivisions, apartment complexes, to new retail shops and shopping centers, the area continues to grow.

Tyler’s Expanding West and South Sides

In Tyler, growth is happening on the west side of the city along Loop 323 and Earl Campbell Parkway. Then, south Tyler has quite a bit happening with a new shopping center being constructed at S Broadway and Cumberland Rd., not to mention the new county courthouse project springing up in downtown Tyler.

Growth is happening in Longview, too, along the north side of town and Hwy 259, then again along I-20 in the northern part of Smith County, a new industrial complex is under construction.

Sephora Coming to Broadway Square Mall

Broadway Square Mall in Tyler is about to get a new tenant. According to CBS19, a filing through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation reveals the beauty brand Sephoria will be opening a location in the mall by the end of June 2026.

Construction should begin mid-March 2026 on the nearly 6,000 sq. ft. retail space for $675,000. The company intends to be open by June 15, 2026. This will be Sephora's second location in Tyler. They have a location inside Kohl's on S Broadway in Tyler. At this time, there have not been any plans announced for the future of this location.

The Brass Tap Brings Craft Beer to Tyler

In other new construction news, a filing through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation shows a permit has been applied for the renovation and alteration of a restaurant facility located at 5875 Old Bullard Rd. The Shops At Old Bullard looks to be the new home of The Brass Tap Craft Beer Bar.

The filing indicated the renovation is expected to begin September 15, 2025, and is scheduled to be completed by December 15 at a cost of $150,000. Renovation of old Local BBQ will become the new home of The Brass Tap Craft Beer Bar.

Once open, this location will offer a wide variety of local and international craft beer, an accompanying food menu, along with handcrafted cocktails and in-house barrel-aged bourbon. It will be an adult destination that will also have live music, trivia nights, and other socially engaging events.

The Brass Tap currently has locations throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Those are a couple of the latest retail and restaurant innovations coming to the Rose City, and they most definitely will not be the last. Especially with Parkside Development beginning to take shape in South Tyler.
