(Mix 93-1) I can say this with 100% confidence: Costco is at the top of the list of retailers that East Texans would like to see open a location here, alongside H-E-B and Buc-ee's.

Why East Texans Want a Costco

While I have never been to a Costco, I've heard great things about the warehouse shopping club from friends who make the trek to the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex to do a lot of shopping.

When I say a ton of shopping, they bring back, what seems to be 2000 pounds of random stuff because of the quantity and size in the packaging!

Seriously, though, it's similar to Sam's Club, which I am familiar with. If you've been in either store, you know they have a food court area where you can fill up on hot dogs, pizza, snacks, and a half-gallon-sized drink for an incredibly cheap price.

The Food Court Favorite Everyone Talks About

For years, Costco customers have paired their hot dog with a Pepsi for $1.50, but that's about to change.

Costco food court customers are going to notice a big change in their local club, if they haven't already. Costco is switching soft drink providers, and for those in Texas, it comes with much celebration.

Coke Replaces Pepsi Nationwide

Costco is dropping Pepsi in favor of returning Coca-Cola products at all of its locations. If I were a Costco customer, I'd be excited about this news because I prefer Coca-Cola products over Pepsi.

The Atlanta-based soft drink company confirmed that change, which began rolling out at many Costco warehouses back on July 1st.

What’s Staying the Same?

Prior to this, Coca-Cola was served at the Costco food courts until they were removed in 2013. One thing that is staying, though, is the $1.50 price of a dog and Coke!

Final Thoughts from a Future Costco Shopper

So when I do eventually get access to a Costco, I know I'll be able to get my favorite soft drink. Now, if they'd just put some of those club-baked cookies or cake slices on the menu, life would be great.
