Blue Bell Moo-llennium Crunch Recall – What To Know

(Mix 93-1) It can be for dessert. It can be before bed. It can be anytime! One of the best things in the world to eat is a heaping cold bowl of Blue Bell Ice Cream.

Whether it's straight from the carton from my freezer or the freezer at Daniel Boone's Grill & Tavern on the Loop in Tyler, no other ice cream comes close to Blue Bell.

You can't go wrong with classic vanilla, vanilla bean, or Dutch chocolate, but this Texas favorite ice cream company has so many other fantastic flavors that it's just hard to pick a favorite sometimes.

Cookies 'n Cream, Strawberries & Homemade Vanilla, Rocky Road, Buttered Pecan, Bride's Cake, Cookie Cake, or other seasonal flavors are usually stocked in my freezer, too!

Blue Bell’s Moo-llennium Crunch Recall Explained

After notifying the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), my favorite ice cream company has issued a voluntary recall on one of its products because of improper packaging.

Company representatives stocking store shelves noticed the packaging error, and now the company is quickly working to correct the issue. A limited quantity of Moo-llennium Crunch was improperly packaged.

What Allergy Risks Are Involved

Some half-gallon cartons of Moo-llennium Crunch have an improper carton.  The ice cream was packaged in a half-gallon container labeled Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. This could potentially be a big issue for those with tree nut allergies. The recall statement says,

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to almonds, walnuts, and pecans run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

Where the Recalled Ice Cream Was Sold

The mislabeled ice cream cartons were sold in Texas and Alabama, Arkansas, Florida Panhandle, Northwest Georgia, Southern Indiana, Southern Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Southwest Virginia.

Check your freezer and make sure the carton matches the lid.
