One thing I love about living in the state of Texas is the culture, especially in deep South Texas. Earlier this month, a pep rally at Donna High School in Donna, Texas, started to go viral on TikTok for all of the right reasons. The video shows a High School Tejano/Conjunto group performing the cumbia "Amor" and also a Huapango, and got the gym floor popping.

Of course, you need a Grito contest

If that wasn't enough to represent our culture, at one point of the pep rally, teachers and coaches joined in on a grito contest. Of course, the song that you would use for a grito contest would be Ramon Ayala's "Tragos Amargos."  We love what the Donna Redskins are doing to keep our culture alive for the next generation.
