Looks like some high value electronics were stolen from Best Buy this morning in Wichita Falls and the suspects went on quite the journey after their crime.

The Wichita Falls Police Department informed the public this morning about a burglary that took place Monday morning at our Best Buy on Kemp Boulevard. When police arrived on the scene, the suspects had already disappeared. Police were able to identify the vehicle the suspects used to get away and departments were informed to be on the lookout.

Best Buy Theft Suspects Located Almost Three Hours Away!

Authorities with the Corsicana Police Department located the vehicle in their city. Police are looking for two suspects, one has been taken into custody and another is still at large. Corsicana has deployed aircraft and K9 units to find the missing suspect.

Due to this being an ongoing investigation, no official monetary value on stolen items has been given yet. If the suspects stole items in value of over $2,500, that is when it becomes a state felony in Texas. Here is an official breakdown of felony theft charges in Texas.

  • State Jail Felony Theft Texas (Theft of $2,500 to $30,000)-May cost you up to $10,000 in fines or result in 180 days to 2 years in state jail.
  • Third Degree Felony Theft (Theft of $30,000 to $150,000)-You may be fined up to $10,000 and spend between 2 and 10 years in state jail.
  • Second Degree Felony Theft (Theft of $150,000-$300,000)- You will face up to $10,000 in fines and could be jailed for 2 to 20 years if found guilty.
  • First Degree Felony Theft (Theft of Anything over $300,000) - Has the same fines as other felony-level theft but could result in up to 99 years in prison (with a minimum sentence of 5 years)
