Ever wonder when the best day is to get the most bang for your buck when gassing up your vehicle in Texas? If so, I’ve got the answer for you, thanks to GasBuddy.

I get that sometimes you have no control over when you get fuel. For those living paycheck to paycheck, it’s most likely going to be payday. Been there, done that.

Of course, you have no choice but to fill up whenever the fuel gauge gets close to “E” while travelling. I’ve had to bite the bullet and pay through the nose while on the highway many times.

But, if possible, it’s best to plan when to fill your tank up.

The best day of the week to get gas varies from state to state. In the majority of states, the best day to fuel up is Monday.

For those of us in the Lone Star State, hold off until Tuesday to gas up to get the best deal possible. That’s for the state as a whole. It varies somewhat from city to city.

For instance, Tuesday is the best day to get gas in Austin and Houston. However, it’s better to fuel up on Monday for Dallas-Fort Worth and San Antonio.

You’re probably also wondering when the worst day to get gas is. Try to avoid filling the tank on Sunday when the price of fuel is typically highest.

The Wonders of Palo Duro Canyon in the Texas Panhandle

Often called the Grand Canyon of Texas, it's easy to feel small when surrounded by the towering land. Palo Duro offers stellar hiking and biking, camping, and even cabins to plan more of a family or lovers getaway. Explore it on foot, on wheels, on horses, etc. Cap off the day with an authentic taqueria meal in Amarillo, if you can stand the smell. They don't call it "Cow Town" for nothing.
