Wichita Falls Liquor Store Sign Hanging Up at New Gas Monkey Icehouse in Texas
A pretty big sign from a liquor store just went up at a new bar/restaurant in The Colony and some may have driven by this sign in Wichita Falls back in the day.
Back in 2012, a new show premiered on Discovery Channel called 'Fast and Loud' showing a Dallas garage called Gas Monkey restoring rundown cars for profit. It lasted for eight seasons and the Gas Monkey name became a brand. Gas Money Live and Gas Monkey Bar and Grill became restaurant concepts off of the Dallas garage, but sadly were hit hard by Covid closing in 2020 and 2021 respectively.
Gas Monkey Icehouse Opening May 6th, 2025 in The Colony
Owner Richard Rawlings has been saying for years the Gas Monkey restaurant experience was not dead and he would be reviving it at some point in Texas. Looks like next week fans can experience the new Gas Monkey restaurant at The Grandscape at 4545 Destination Drive in The Colony. Turns out, a little piece of Wichita Falls history will be a BIG part of this restaurant.
Back in February, Richard Rawlings put this giant sign on Facebook asking if anybody knew where it was from. He's had it for years and always thought it came from West Texas. Well thanks to Brian Landrum, he told the story of the sign from Wichita Falls in the comments.
Hey Richard Rawlings. My Uncle and I owned those stores. That sign was on Beverly Drive and Seymour Hwy in Wichita Falls. The store and property were sold and the sign was moved to our location on North Beverly. It was later removed and replaced. There were 3 Circle Liquor stores prior to the sale of the business. Where did you find that?
Wichita Falls Liquor Store Sign Now Up at Gas Monkey Icehouse
Looks like the sign has now got a new home at The Gas Monkey Icehouse and honestly looks amazing. If you happen to make a road trip to The Colony to go check it out, snap a photo and tag us in it. Nice to see a little piece of Wichita Falls getting some love.
