Since 1998, TXU Energy has helped keep Texans cool that may not be able to afford it during the summer. Throughout the years they have donated thousands of fans and portable air conditioning units. Also donating to local organizations that can help pay people's electric bills during the brutal summer months when we keep that air conditioner running.

This week, Wichita Falls Mayor Tim Short gave a proclamation kicking off National Salvation Army Week. Giveaways are happening each and every day at the Salvation Army location in Wichita Falls at 700 Lee Street. Today we're getting our first real taste of summer time temperatures. For anyone that needs help staying cool. Stop by the Salvation Army on Friday because they're doing a free box fan giveaway.

Beat the Heat Wichita Falls

TXU Energy is once again helping Texans stay cool with Beat the Heat. This Friday you can go to the Salvation Army in Wichita Falls starting at 10AM to receive a free box fan. Apparently TXU donated 125 box fans to give to families in the Wichita Falls area. They're first come, first serve so don't wait til the last minute on Friday expecting to get one. TXU Energy also wrote a  check for $100,000 to help provide energy aid bill-payment assistance to Wichita Falls-area families.
