Diboll Man Pleads Guilty To Illegal Entry
Davilyn Walton, a public affairs officer for the U.S. Attorney's Office - Eastern District of Texas sent out a press release about a Diboll man who pleaded guilty to unlawfully returning to the United States after being deported.
According to the Lufkin Daily News, Mexican national Eduardo Barajas-Macias, 32, pleaded guilty last week to illegal entry by someone previously deported. The plea was entered before U.S. Magistrate Judge Christine L. Stetson.
Barajas-Macias was in Diboll in March of 2024 after an investigation found he was previously deported from the U.S. back to Mexico in 2023. Now he faces up to two years in federal prison.

Barajas-Macias was arrested with 15 others as part of a methamphetamine trafficking ring. The bust was part of the biggest law enforcement operation in Angelina County, according to Sheriff Tom Selman.
Barajas was found to be a close associate of that criminal meth conspiracy. Now a sentencing hearing will be scheduled after an investigation by the U.S. Probation Office is completed.
