Other species, like the six-banded armadillo, live in Central and South America, which is why this little guy makes for an interesting addition to the Dallas Zoo.
Armadillos are incredibly unique- their bony plates and ability to roll up into a ball to protect themselves make them quirky, adorable, and like a living relic of more ancient species.
I am particularly fond of the Pink Fairy armadillo because its name and its looks just scream "Care Bear Cousin".
Welcome to the world, little Jaco! We promise to watch our language around you.
