A Longview, Texas woman is now behind bars charged with intoxicated manslaughter after she caused a fatal crash on Sunday. 45-year-old Longview resident Casey Johnson is in custody after causing a deadly crash and will now be facing charges of intoxicated manslaughter with a vehicle and intoxicated assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury.

Longview Woman Arrested After Fatal DUI Crash

Johnson is currently booked into the Gregg County Jail and her bonds total $500,000.

According to the Longview Police Department, officers were called to the scene of the crash at approximately 7:50 p.m. on Saturday on West Loop 281. The crash involved two SUVs.

Police Say Jeep Crossed the Median

Johnson was identified as the driver of one of the vehicles (a Jeep) that crossed the median and struck a Chevrolet Tahoe that had five people inside. The driver of the Tahoe was killed in the crash, and Johnson was arrested at the scene.

Community Rallies Around Victims' Family

The family of the victims have shared a GoFundMe account that has been set up. The goal is to raise $75,000 and they are well on their way. While this crash was avoidable and tragic, it's encouraging to see so many people help out in this family's time of need.

According to the GoFundMe page, the driver of the Tahoe was identified as Clayton. And there was an unborn baby that was lost in the crash. Two others in the Tahoe are recovering from injuries.
