One of the most popular and family-friendly events to look forward to every spring is Movies in the Park at Spring Lake Park in Texarkana.

The City of Texarkana and the Texarkana Texas Parks and Recreation Department always put on this great event with great movies for the whole family and it is free!

This event is held on Thursday nights with the movies beginning at dusk around 7:30 PM. This year, Movies in the Park will kick off on Thursday, May 29, and will run on Thursday, June 5 and Thursday, June 12.

So grab the kiddos because they are going to love this year's lineup of great movies!

Captain America -Thursday, May 29th  

Starring Chris Evans and Samuel L Jackson. Steve Rogers want to help fight the Nazis in WWII but is turned down but the military because he's too small. He signs up for an experimental program that turns him into a supersoldier.

Pattington - Thursday, June 5

Starring Hugh Benneville and Nicole Kidman. Paddington the Bear. He is a special breed of intelligent bear who can speak in the jungles of Peru. After a family tragedy, Patteington goes to England and is adopted by a family. But what he doesn't know is that a taxidermist is following him!

The Goonies - Thursday, June 12 

This 1985 classic, starring Sean Astin, Josh Brolin, and Corey Feldman, is about a few kids who are trying to save their homes from foreclosure and end up finding an old treasure map. Needless to say, the adventure begins!
