Texarkana Police say two additional suspects have been arrested in connection with the December 20 shooting of a 61-year-old man, bringing the total number of arrests in the case to three.

Two Suspects Taken Into Custody

According to police, members of the Special Investigations Unit located Markevin Henderson, 42, and Xavier Morris, 17, Wednesday evening in a vehicle traveling on New Boston Road. Investigators said both were wanted in connection with an alleged robbery tied to the shooting. The two were taken into custody without incident.

Details of the Texarkana Shooting

The shooting occurred late at night in the 300 block of Robison Place, police said. Investigators believe the victim answered his apartment door and allowed the suspects inside. At some point, the victim was shot multiple times.

Police said the suspects took a small safe from inside the apartment before running from the scene.

The victim was transported to CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital, where he was reported to be in critical condition.

Third Suspect Turned Himself In

Police said Rickey Watson turned himself in a few days after the shooting, doing so just minutes after authorities posted that he was wanted in connection with the case.

Bond Set, Investigation Continues

Bond for Henderson, Morris, and Watson has been set at $250,000 each, and all three remain in custody at the Bi-State Jail.

Texarkana Police credited Detectives Austin Ward and Casey Schmidt for their work on the case, citing long hours spent identifying those involved.
