The University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana (UAHT) and the University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) will soon announce a new partnership aimed at expanding access to affordable bachelor’s degree programs in southwest Arkansas.

Under the agreement, UAHT students will be able to complete select bachelor’s degrees while remaining on UAHT campuses, offering one of the lowest tuition-rate pathways to a four-year degree in the state.

Expanded Degree Opportunities for UAHT Students

The partnership will allow students to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in K–6 Elementary Education, with courses expected to begin in May 2026, and a Bachelor of Business Administration, scheduled to launch in August 2026. Both degree programs are pending approval from the Arkansas Higher Education Coordinating Board and the Higher Learning Commission.

UAHT and UAM officials say the collaboration combines the strengths and resources of both institutions to support student success, reduce financial barriers, and improve college completion rates across the region.

Public Announcement Set for January 15

The formal announcement will take place at 10:30 AM on Thursday, January 15, at the Hempstead Hall Rotunda on the UAHT Hope, Arkansas campus. The event is open to the public and members of the media.

Leaders from both UAHT and UAM are expected to speak about the partnership, the new degree offerings, and the anticipated impact on students and the surrounding communities.
