This weekend it's gonna be poppin' at the 57th annual Jonquil Festival March 14-15 in historic Washington State Park Arkansas.

57th Annual Jonquil Festival

Just a short 45-minute drive from Texarkana, this festival has become a premiere festival of the South. Folks travel far and wide from across the county to delve into the beauty of thousands of colorful jonquils that surround this tranquil old-style village right off Highway 278.

Besides all the great food vendors, visitors can enjoy live music, arts and crafts, and one of my favorites, the classic car show.

That's right, if you are a classic car buff you will be in car heaven seeing all the vintage cars, trucks, street rods, muscle cars, nostalgic classic cars, and even old tractors.

Historical Buildings and Homes

There are numerous historical buildings that you can tour like the centerpiece of the festival the 1874 Courthouse, schoolhouse, gymnasium, candle shop, old church, and one of the oldest Post Offices in Arkansas.

Home Of The Historic Bowie Knife

Did you know the infamous Bowie Knife was made for James Bowie at the old Blacksmith Shop? Make sure to stop by for forging demonstrations and a walk-through tour of the shop.

There will be plenty of carnival food on hand but if you desire some good ol' county cooking visit the historic Williams Tavern.
