Islander have released a music video for their track ‘New Wave’ off their debut album, ‘Violence & Destruction,’ which came out back in April. The clip features the South Carolina group rocking out on a deserted beach and you can watch the full video above.

In an interview with Billboard, frontman Mikey Carvajal says ‘New Wave’ is one of his favorite songs off their album: “When I was writing the lyrics, our producer, Cameron Webb, put me in a room by myself and turned on a movie filled with random footage and people surfing in slow motion. So when I hear the song, that's still what I think about. It's a joyful song about the end of the world. I also pick on myself a bit because of my love for new wave music like Depeche Mode, New Order."

Fans of the music video Islander did for their hit single ‘Coconut Dracula,’ will notice a nod to that clip in ‘New Wave.’ Both videos feature a child wearing the same vampire mask.

New Wave are currently on tour with Papa Roach and Seether. Check out the full list of tour dates here.
