The Devil Horn Region is as tough as any other in the March Metal Madness tournament. To advance to Round 2 to determine the Best Metal Songs of the 21st Century, Godsmack's smash hit "Awake" will battle against Machine Head's "Aesthetics of Hate." We want a nice clean fight and no hitting below the belt!

In one corner Godmsack stand alone, staring down their opponent in the ring. The hyper-aggressive "Awake" features a music video where the band is performing in a cage like they had the foresight to know they would be in this competition. Sully Erna's gritty voice spills words of vengeance and triumph and flows into the anthemic chorus. Will the hard-hitting fist-raiser be enough to take down Machine Head?

"Aesthetics of Hate" comes off Machine Head's standout 2007 effort, The Blackening. The Grammy-nominated song was written in response to an article following the death of Dimebag Darrell that slammed the guitarist and his talents. Robb Flynn is downright pissed off as he details his hatred for the words he head. The rage is palpable and could be enough to send "Aesthetics of Hate" into Round 2 over "Awake."

So which song will move on to the second round of March Metal Madness 2016? Listen to both tracks and vote for either Godsmack's "Awake" or Machine Head's "Aesthetics of Hate" as the Best Metal Song of the 21st Century in the poll below!

(This poll will end on Tuesday, March 8, at 9AM ET. Fans are able to vote once per hour, so keep coming back to make sure your favorite song wins!)
