Dallas Cowboys former Coach and Hall Of Fame Player Pass Away Within Days of Each Other

Sad news for the Dallas Cowboys!  The Dallas Cowboys have lost two great members of the Cowboys family. Over the last week, the Cowboys family lost a Hall of Fame member and a long-time coach.

Dallas Cowboy Pro Hall of Fame member Rayfiled " Big Cat" Wright passed away at the age of 76 due to complications of a seizure. He began having seizures after his retirement in 1980 and was diagnosed with dementia in 2012. His wife, Di Hall, confirmed his passing to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Rayfield Wright was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the seventh round in 1967. He played for the Cowboys for 13 seasons, they released him in 1980. In 1980 he joined the Philidelphia Eagles for training camp that year and retired shortly after. He received many honors throughout his career and was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006. He was also inducted into the Dallas Cowboys Ring of Honor in 2004.

Over the weekend the Dallas Cowboys suffered another loss. Long-time running backs coach Gary Brown passed away at the age of 52 after losing his battle with cancer. Gary Brown was on the Cowboys coaching staff from 2013 to 2019. He worked with Cowboy running backs like DeMarco Murray, Ezekiel Elliot and others.

Gary Brown also spent time playing in the NFL in the 1980's he played for the Houston Oilers, Chargers, and the Giants over eight seasons.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, reminded the world of how special he was to the Cowboys organization:

“Gary Brown had a big heart partnered with a big smile and a big personality,” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said as part of a statement Sunday night. “His energy and spirit were infectious. He lit up every room he walked into and touched the lives of those who knew him, loved him.” Cowboys Wire
