Court Rules Cosby Assault Case Can Move Forwad
The sex assault case against Bill Cosby in Pennsylvania can proceed. That's the ruling from a state appeals court which rejected the comedian's attempt to have the charges thrown out.
The 78-year-old Cosby has been charged with drugging and assaulting a woman at his home near Philadelphia in 2004. Defense lawyers have argued the case should be thrown out because Cosby had reached a deal with prosecutors over a decade ago.
Former Temple University employee Andrea Constand is one of more than 50 women who say Cosby sexually assaulted them. Yesterday's ruling clears the way for a preliminary hearing at which prosecutors are expected to outline some of the evidence against Cosby.
