It bombed before, so why not bring it back?

If you don't remember, back in 1985 Coca-Cola redid the formula for Coke, and released it as New Coke. It was a gigantic flop and they went back to the original flavor with just a few months. New Coke did stick around though as Coke Two for awhile, but was ultimately cancelled.

Something that shows like Stranger Things has created is a market for nostalgia. Apparently nostalgia for things that didn't work in the first place.

Well, the new season of Stranger Things debuts on July 4th, and this season takes place in 1985. So they're bringing back New Coke, a spokesperson said:

"Maybe a while ago, we wouldn't have done this.  But we're changing and trying to innovate in ways that are beyond traditional new products.  This is a cultural innovation . . . [to] break the Internet."

I was only 5 when New Coke came out and I'm not even sure I tried it. Unfortunately I can't try it now either because anything with that much caffeine will spin me into a panic attack.
