Airbourne Unleash High-Octane Title Track From ‘Breakin’ Outta Hell’ Album
Australian new age rockers Airbourne are readying the Sept. 23 release of their fourth studio album, Breakin' Outta Hell. The anthemic quartet have released a lyric video for the title track (seen above) and it puts the pedal to the metal!
Clocking in at under four minutes, "Breakin' Outta Hell" is all thrills and no frills, opening with a chugging lead-in before singer Joel O'Keeffe lets out a succinct yet effective wail. Arena-styled drumming shifts the gears into overdrive before returning to the chugging rhythm during the verse. With a perfect buildup to the electrifying chorus, Airbourne let loose, screaming the song's title.
"We get a lot of feedback from our fans saying how much they love the faster tracks," began O'Keeffe. "But when they play them in the car… well, it can be tough on their pocket with all the speeding fines! 'Breakin' Outta Hell' is definitely one of THOSE numbers… even the guys who filmed the lyric video were stopped by the police and given a fine."
Speaking about the video portion, the frontman continued, "For us, these visuals really sum up the feeling behind the song and the album, too. The whole message is right there. Put on the single, or the album, and it's, 'F--k the boss and f--k all the tax I owe. I'm going out, I'm getting pissed and I'm going to listen to some hard rock 'n' roll.' No ballads, no bulls--t. I'm breaking out of Hell!"
Catch Airbourne on tour starting Sept. 12 in San Diego Calif. The trek will wrap up in Baltimore, Md. on Oct. 14 and a full list of stops can be found at our 2016 Guide to Rock + Metal Tours.
